SSAFA Forces Help Young Achiever Awards 2009
SSAFA’s Young Achiever Awards recognise the outstanding personal achievements of children and young people living in Western Europe: from coping admirably with illness or disability, to helping and caring for others; from contributions to the local community to amazing sporting and creative achievements.
SSAFA have launched this year’s search for extraordinary children and young people and are asking parents, teachers, youth workers and everyone else in Western Europe to consider making a nomination for someone they know aged 5-18 years.
Sponsored by the Sixth Sense newspaper, the Awards are now in their twelfth year.
“These awards are a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of young people who’ve made an important contribution to their community, as well as to those who have given hope and encouragement to others”, explains Alison Crowe, Publicity Officer SSAFA Forces Help Western Europe. “So if you know of a young person who deserves recognition for what they have achieved in the last year, please let us know”.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from this website. Alternatively or for more information, please call SSAFA’s Volunteer Projects Office on JHQ Mil 3392 or 02161 472 3392.
Before making your nomination for someone aged between 5 – 18 years, do get their permission and the permission of their parents. Closing date for applications is Thursday 5th November 2009.
