SHAPE is more than a NATO military headquarters, it is also an International community made up of representatives from 26 of the member Nations of the Alliance . It is located near the Town of Mons , which is Synonymous with the battles of the 1 st and 2nd World Wars. The town boasts an elegant Grand Place with cobbled streets and many bars and restaurants where you can sample the local delicacies and some of the 500 beers for which Belgium is famous.
SHAPE is situated 60kms from the Belgium capitol of Brussels and 23kms from the French boarder.
We are situated in a porta cabin within the UKSU car park next to the UK Mess (Bldg 308). You cannot miss us as we have the HIVE flag flying prominently from the building.
The HIVE Information Officers at SHAPE have an abundance of information and if we can't answer your questions we are sure to know someone who can! The HIVE is open to all personnel whether married, single, serving or a dependant and although the majority of our customers are British, we welcome the many nationalities stationed here.
