Germany has banned the cannabis-like drug ‘Spice’ because of its potential danger to healthspice

Manufacturing, possession and dealing of ‘Spice’ is a criminal offence.  Spice has enjoyed growing popularity among young people in Germany where it has been sold as a natural herbal mixture, thus attempting to circumvent anti-drug laws.  Tests have shown that it contains potentially harmful chemicals, which has the same effects as the natural psychoactive substance in cannabis, but is up to four times stronger.  "Spice is not harmless and needs to be withdrawn from circulation quickly," said Germany’s Health Minister.   Germany’s Drug Commissioner said it had been proven that the manufacturers of Spice had laced the natural herbs with a synthetic narcotic drug.  "Selling Spice as a harmless smoking fragrance is fraudulent," she said.
Tests have shown that smoking the drug can cause hallucinations and lead to undesirable side affects such as panic attacks and nausea.  The ban, which carries a fine for those who ignore it, will remain in force for 12 months until a more permanent law is introduced in Germany.  For further information and to report the misuse of any controlled drug, please contact your local Military Police Station or BFG CRIMELINE on 0800 184 2222.

Forces Store

www.theforcesstore.co.uk

The Forces Store aims to support Service personnel and their families. It is wholly owned and run by dependants of members of the British armed forces. It is our aim to make your life easier.
We know what its like to get a panic e-bluey saying it’s the Mother-in-law’s birthday the very next day. We know what it’s like to be deployed and have to try and find a nice gift with only 20 minutes on the web. And we also know how difficult it is to get hold of some of those essential items needed when you are away from the UK.
