AWS

Our Aim

The aim of the AWS is to provide standardised high quality personal and community support facilities wherever military personnel and their families are living.  The intention is to provide in partnership with the service community, Community Centres, Pre-School groups, Youth Clubs, young peoples activities during school holidays, learning opportunities; just about everything the Service community requires.

AWS Personal Support

Trained and supervised Army Welfare Workers covering British Forces Germany work to professional standards to provide a confidential Personal Support Service to serving soldiers and their families.  They will listen and explore the available options with you.

Some of the issues AWS can help with include:

§ Relationship difficulties
§ Bereavement
§ CSA concerns
§ Parenting skills
§ Child care
§ Special Needs
§ Benefits information
§ Housing
§ Equal Opportunities issues

AWS operates a strict confidentiality policy, in accordance with legal requirements, to ensure that personal information is not passed to anyone outside of AWS without the person's consent.  There are a few exceptions to this principle involving situations when there is risk to self or others, serious criminal acts including breaches of security, or if operational effectiveness is seriously compromised.
